Soccer Bros: small pitch, big tackles
Soccer Bros shrinks football down to something you can play in a lunch break. Each side has six bros on the pitch — a centre, two wingers, two defenders and a goalkeeper — and the camera follows the ball across a pixel-art stadium. You control one bro at a time and the game switches you to the player nearest the action, so you spend the whole match chasing, tackling and shooting instead of watching.
It is a Blue Wizard game, the studio behind Football Bros and Basket Bros. The build Blue Wizard serves today is the one its own page calls Soccer Bros 2, the sequel to the original one-on-one game, and that is the version here. It plays like the rest of the family: one movement stick and one action key. With the ball, the key passes or shoots; without it, the same key slides in for a tackle. Headers and bicycle kicks happen when the ball is in the air and you are in the right spot, and crunching tackles can leave a player hurt for the next game.
Between the action sits a layer of real football thinking. Before kick-off you choose a formation, at corners you choose attack or defence tactics, and each of the 49 national teams has its own special play — Brazil's is called Brazilian Samba, Morocco's Atlas Lions, Uruguay's Garra Charrua. Win games to unlock more teams and upgrades, and try to take one of them through the Global Cup.
Controls & mechanics
| Action | Control | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Move | Arrow keys or WASD | You control the bro nearest the ball; the game switches for you |
| Shoot / pass | G, Space, X or Ctrl with the ball | One action key does it all; aim with the direction you are holding |
| Tackle | Same key without the ball | Slide in on the player with the ball — mistimed slides leave a gap |
| Headers & bicycle kicks | Action key while the ball is in the air | Get under a cross and the bro heads it or flips into an overhead kick |
| 2 players, 1 keyboard | Left: WASD + G · Right: arrows + L | Each side has its own action key |
| Chat (online) | Enter | Type to the other players in an online room |
Winning more in Soccer Bros
- Shoot from an angle: Running straight at the keeper makes his job easy. Cut across the box first and shoot back towards the far post.
- Tackle from the side: A slide from behind or straight on often misses. Come in from the side of the ball carrier and time the key as he passes.
- Use the wingers: The centre gets crowded. A pass out wide and a cross back in sets up the headers and bicycle kicks.
- Pick tactics for the moment: At corners and set pieces the tactic cards matter. Defending a lead, choose a defensive set-up; chasing a goal, send bodies forward.
- Try your team's special play: Every nation has a named special play. Learn what yours does in a friendly before you need it in the Global Cup.
- Do not quit a game early: Leaving a match before the end counts as two losses, so finish it even when you are behind.

Pro tip: When your keeper has the ball, do not rush the next attack. Let the defenders spread out first and pass to the free winger.
